The Astr RS uses aero-optimized tubing and a diffusor fork based on our Falcn RS aero-to-weight study. Additionally, the Astr RS has a confidence-inspiring geometry with a high degree of stability at high speed (longer wheelbase, slacker head angle, deeper BB). The large tire clearance allows fitting the tires required to handle rougher courses.
Riders need to be able to conserve more energy during the race: optimized aero, more comfort, less rolling resistance due to the wider tires, and better climbing performance due to the low weight mean racers will go into the final with more energy in the tank than their adversaries.

Features
- The focus in the road bike market used to be on stiffness versus weight, but has recently shifted to the balance between aero and weight. Ridley decided to combine the best of both worlds with the Astr, which means it has been made as aerodynamic as possible without sacrificing the bike's weight. The Astr has a similar aero performance to the Kanzo Fast and weighs just 890g (in size Medium), meaning cyclists no longer have to choose between lightweight and aero.
